A few months back, my best friend Priya Sharma, Chartered Accountant from Kolkata and part time poet who is working as Assistant Manager – Finance at Unilever (HUL) reached out to me.
Her team was expanding and looking for an analyst-level hire.
Without thinking twice, I said: “I have an amazing pool of students, I can surely share 5-6 strong CVs”
I just put up a quick story on my WhatsApp & Channel (link in comments), and soon I was able to connect Priya with a few strong CVs that she passed along to her HR team.
Then, honestly, I forgot about it.
Weeks later, I got a message from Vijithmon K P (a follower I’ve never met) saying:
“Chinmaya, I made it to HUL, thanks for connecting me”
That’s when it hit me. Priya got a great resource, Vijithmon got his dream role and I was just the bridge (VLOOKUP) connecting them.
And me? Well, my only incentive was dinner… which both of them have been denying me for months now. 😭🤣
Come on guys, is it not fair to buy me one dinner at least? 🍽
That’s my real flex. Not numbers, not vanity metrics but real lives impacted & changed!
