As part of my decentralised (PR free) success stories, Meet Bhavya Gupta, a Bcom graduate from Jodhpur, Rajasthan and easilyย one of the top 10 Excel experts in India today.
Bhavya Gupta is quite possibly the ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑย to be awarded the prestigious Microsoft MVP title, not once, but two years in a row.
๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐โ๐ ๐๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น?
Bhavya comes from a Tier-2 city, his father runs a small-scale goods trading business.
He pursued his graduation from a non-fancy college while ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ณ-๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ดย Excel, Power BI, and Python with no teacher, no course, and no mentor.
A few years ago, he started tagging me in his LinkedIn posts.
I read them, loved his curiosity & hunger to learn and instantly messaged him to connect on WhatsApp.
Since then, we have stayed regularly in touch.
Actually, our relationship is like a ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒย ๐
He was my mentee for a long timeโฆ until he started diving deep into Dynamic Arrays & Lambdas.
If you ask me – Whoโs the ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ on Lambdas?
With bias, I would say Bhavya, as his lucid, beginner-friendly content sets him apart.
His ๐ฌ๐ผ๐๐ง๐๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐น is a ๐ด๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ (please hide it from Nirmala Tai, else she might put GST on YT views ๐)
Whether itโs recursion or nested arrays – I proudly say heโs my teacher, and I owe my own understanding of Lambdas to him.
We first chatted in May 2022, and finally met 3 years later in March 2025.
Few months back, when he was in Mumbai and he told me:

I had a date plannedโฆ but I cancelled it to meet Bhavya.
No regrets – HONESTLY! ๐
Beyond the tech brilliance, what truly stands out is his humility, gratitude, and soft-spoken nature.
โจ Talent like his doesnโt need validation – but itโs heartening to see Microsoft ($ 3tn mkt cap) recognise our boy from Jodhpur.
Also, Bhavyaโs journey is a tight slap to all the micromanagers who think you need to be in office 5 days a week to โlearnโ.
Bhavya – proud of your journey. Youโre what I call a decentralised success story.
