As per my EPFO portal (finally managed to log in ๐ ), I have about 80 months of work experience now.
For the last few years, I have this weekend ritual: Open my work laptop (not because my boss asked me) but to revisit my own work โ the Excel formulas, mails, research, frameworks, wins & my mistakes. Thatโs honestly how I built real expertise in Excel & modelling. I would reflect, ask peers/mentors, and think: โ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐โ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ? and also spend hours on forums, internet finding solutions.
Over time, this habit became a gold mine of ideas. I have discovered new ways, new paths & innovative solutions. Today, when students/clients ask me doubts, I can often answer without even looking at their screen. Itโs not magic, it is just hours of rethinking, optimising, and learning from mistakes. Enjoy life, I am not saying work all weekends. Balance is key.
My personal rule: 1 sport, 1 fancy meal, 1 date, 1 event AND 2-3 case studies a month โ so that the heart, the body, and the mind all grow together. But if there is one thing I would recommend – ๐ถ๐โ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ผ๐๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ Thatโs where the growth really hides. Observe what actually worked well for you. Legends / GOAT like Sachin Tendulkar use this technique – just look at his eyes in this reel. Pure obsession with getting better.
